Youth Camp 2006 In Step with Christ

The talks by brother Harold Summers are really inspiring.

Here's a brief summary...

Talk 1 Think like Jesus did. If you don't think you won't do. SO everything begins with thinking aright like Jesus did. And we can have the mind of Christ only when we read, study, memorize and meditate on His Word, the Bible.

Talk 2 Love God the Father like Jesus did. We see this especially when we read the gospel of John.
Everything the Lord Jesus thought, said, did, suffered, endured and went through is because He loves the Father. His whole life was a continuous, daily, whole burnt offering of obedience to God. That's worship. And it involves prayer, fellowship and evangelism as well.

Talk 3 Love your neighbor like Jesus did. Loving God means also that we love His creation and His creatures. And prayer is the most powerful thing on earth. Pray for everyone, including those who hate or despise you.

Talk 4 Walk like Jesus did. God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we claim to walk with Him, we have to walk in the light (truth). When all of us are walking in the light with Jesus, we'll automatically walk together in fellowship with Him and with one another. This is internal, within the assembly of the saints. The result will be edification and encouragement. If we are walking in darkness but try to fellowship with other Christians, it will be in vain. So called fellowship with one another without the fellowship with Christ is vain and not profitable.

Talk 5 Work like Jesus did. The Lord Jesus came to seek and save those who are lost. As children of light, we are to reach out to those still walking in darkness (lies) by showing them the light (truth) we have found in Jesus. Our lives will speak louder than our words.
This is evangelism.

Overall that brings us back to Acts 2:42-47. Especially Acts 2:42.
The Lord Jesus set His face steadfastly towards Jerusalem.
The early Christians continued steadfastly in the apostle's doctrine (The Bible), and fellowship, and in breaking of bread (worship), and in prayers.

In the following verses, you can tell that they were together
physically "And all that believed were together",
materially "and had all things common",
mentally "continuing daily with one accord in the temple",
spiritually "and breaking bread from house to house",
emotionally "did eat their meat with gladness",
psychologically "and singleness of heart"
and socially "and having favour with all the people".

The result in Acts 2:47 is that "And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved."

Maranatha!
