Idols are man-made gods

Ye have taken away my gods which I made.
Judges 18:24

Self made gods are rather vulnerable. They can be stolen, lost, or
destroyed. They are hardly trustworthy, not to mention the fact that they
are unable to speak, see, hear, smell, feel, or walk (see Psalm 115). We
rejoice in a God who is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. We need a
God who is so much greater than we are; One who is greater than our
problems and greater than our sin. Thankfully we find all that and more in
our Lord Jesus Christ. He is able to save, keep and satisfy. “Jesus Christ,
the same yesterday and today and forever” (Heb. 13:8).

1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
